Hi Clint,

Thank you for your support and for the suggestion! I thought about it in the past and it's definitely on my to-do list. I can't promise anything, but I might be able to do it in the following days.

Hi Marcos,

I'm pretty sure you couldn't set the window larger than the maximum allowed by your operating system and there is no chrome extension that could do that! :)

The old version just resized it as large as it could and silently fail, without letting you know that it couldn't, in fact, resize it to the dimensions specified by the selected preset! There is no extension that can resize the browser window more than you can do yourself by dragging by the window's edges.

I'm sorry if you relied on that broken behavior, but that has been the source of many complaints and issues along the years and just had to be removed.

So, my advice to you is to revise your presets and set proper values that can actually fit your screen. You can do that by manually resizing the window to the desired dimension and the add a new preset and click on the "use current" link when entering the dimensions.

Hi Will,

You can achieve the same thing as before by using a keyboard shortcut:

1. Open the "Settings" dialog

2. Go to "hotkeys"

3. Click on "configure the shortcuts"

4. Find "Window Resizer" in the list

5. Set a shortcut for "Cycle presets"

"Cycle presets" does the exact same thing as in the previous version.

I think I'll bring back the option to cycle the presets by clicking on the icon during the next days, but I can't promise you anything just yet.

This is incredibly weird! :/ I can't think of a single reason that could cause this...

From your screenshots it seems to me that you have a pending Chrome update. Did you try to update Chrome and see if it works afterwards?

Happy to help and thanks for the support! Just let me know if there are any other problems.

Hi John,

After the update you should've had the same presets as before, so there must be a bug that caused you to lose the defaults . I'll add a way to reset the preset list to the defaults and look into what caused your issue.

Hi Matt,

I have just published an update trying to fix this issue. By the looks of it, it is a problem with Chrome failing to update the popup's height after rendering the preset list so I just set a fixed height for the popup until I find a better solution.

Please note that, with this being such a small tweak, I chose not to notify people that there's been yet another update, so you won't know when you receive it (updates are delivered by Chrome in ~1 hour after they're being published). The way to see if you got it is to manually check the extension's version in the "about" section of the settings. The new version is 2.3.1.

Please let me know if it works so I can close this ticket.

Hi Giant,

First of all, thank you for supporting this extension!

Second, I apologize for the inconvenience!

I have a theory, but I'm typing from my phone so I can't test it.

Meanwhile, you could try the following: Open a regular page, like google.com and manually position the window where you want it to be, then resize it do the desired dimensions by using the edge handles. When it's exactly where you want it to be, open the settings and add a new preset. Don't write the width/height yourself; instead, click on the "use current" link next to the input fields. Do the same for the window's position and leave the resize target set to "window", not "viewport". Save the new preset and try it out. There should be no reason for this not to work.

You make a good point!

Sorry, there's no way to disable it at the moment. I'll add a way to disable it in the next couple of days.

P.S.: This version has been tested by ~30.000 users during the last 6 months, but no one was in this situation and it didn't occur to me something like this might happen. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience.
